Season 2 of Buffy is probably my favorite single season of television ever.

Starting from School Hard with Spike and Drusilla, through getting to know Cordelia and Oz, to Jenny and Giles, Angel and Angelus, the stakes getting higher and higher, the gut-wrenching surprises, the tension, the incredible amount of character development for so many characters, the twists and turns, things ratcheting up, and then that devastating finale with devastating piled on devastating. Episodes from School Hard to Inca Mummy Girl to Halloween to Innocence to Passion to Becoming Pt I and Pt II.

I forgot how utterly amazing it was until I just thought about it. (And the ridiculous thing is that the next few seasons were almost as good).

What an amazing ride that was.
